No Spoiler Review of Wicked

The beginning started with action pretty much right away…The romance wasn’t too far behind.

I would definitely say this book falls in the new adult genre. There’s definitely some spice but the pace is really fast. I will say I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the dialogue (personal preference)… I don’t usually like when the author adds a lot of current “young adult banter” because I don’t feel like many authors do it well. Some parts made me cringe a bit and I felt like she was really trying to inject this into the story to really show her age. (Makes sense? Yes…but still cringeworthy to me) I’m also 32 reading it…so that could also be why.

Now onto the actual storyline…I LOVED it.

Was it pretty predictable? Yes. Was I ok with that and still really into the book? Also, yes. The main character was likable and relatable. The romance was exciting and moved at a good pace. The characters trauma was super sad but not crazy dark. I look forward to book 2
