The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue*The Invisible Life of Addie Larue: No Spoiler Review*

Let’s preface this review with…

I have a one year old and stayed up until 2:30am to finish this book.

One year olds don’t care if you can’t put down a book.

Ok, so when I started this book I was on a major book hangover…Nothing seemed to grab my attention. I started Addie, got really into it and put it down a little over half way through. This book gets DARK…FAST. Did I think it contributed to the overall story and really made the depth of this book GREAT? Yes I did… but I’m not sure how emotionally prepared I was for it. So I put it down for a few days (which is why I knocked a star…If I can put it down…It’s not a true 5 star for me)

So, I picked it back up because I had tried moving onto something else and it just wasn’t working out…GUYS! Apparently I laid it down right before it got GOOOD! Victoria knows how to write!! The depth she gave all of these characters…The emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, cried and cried some more. I found myself not sure who I was rooting for or what the heck was going on ( I like an author that can still be unpredictable ). What I guessed/wanted to happen didn’t but guess what!? I STILL LOVED the ending! and I am SUPER picky about endings…I almost never like them. I know this is a standalone for now but would love to see the story continue or have a spin off.

I will say, this book is not exactly in my usual genre

( I usually like high fantasy fiction )

but am I going to go read more of V.E. Schwab?

Yes, I definitely think so.
