The Coven Review:

Ok, so I loved this book. I finished it within 48 hours and I have two little ones. I think you will love it to IF you go into this book with the right mindset.

This book is what I would consider a “guilty pleasure” read…Super easy, short and super juicy. If you’re a fan of anything on the CW, think…Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars or The Originals…You’ll like this book. This isn’t a super deep, large world building kind of fantasy romance.

Ok, now to the actual book. I loved the banter between the two main MC’s romance. There’s tension from the beginning…A kinda sorta ish love triangle and the “I’m meant to kill you but also seduce you” kinda story. She created a cool little twist on Vampires and there is a lot of magic (this is a Witches college basically). Different witches have different affinities (kinda similar to Zodiac Academy).

The main MC was raised outside of the witches “system” and was trained to take revenge for her family. Once her mother dies (not a spoiler…happens like on page 1) her cloaking protection goes away. Though they planned for her to go into the witches system eventually anyways.

The ending had a nice little cliffhanger and some betrayal mixed in there. I will say, my guess for the ending was pretty close to what happened. So if that bothers you, might not be for you…but that doesn’t bother me if the book is really good.

So! Overall, I would 100% recommend this book. I will most definitely be reading book 2 in August (fingers crossed I can snag an ARC before then)
