Wow…This book was just so phenomenally written. The female MC Vera was strong willed and didn’t put up with crap…and you wanted to route for her. I’ve read too many books lately where a writer “tries” to write this type of character and fails to get a good balance…The character ends up just being annoying and rude. Lilian had no such problems with Vera.

The flirting and slow burn is just *chef’s kiss*…Love trianglish. Get ready for your new favorite morally gray book boyfriend because this green eyed beauty is it! Jaren is beautiful, complicated and deliciously morally gray. A little bit spicy (assuming book 2 will have more)

Lilian also did a good job with the world building with a different *twist* on how Fae came to be. She just became one of my authors that I will literally read whatever she writes. (Well, whatever fantasy she writes…since she writes contemporary too) So glad I chose her book out of the Apollycon authors I wanted to read before meeting. My first 5 star book for 2023.
